How much do you get?

Someone was quite pleased with themselves the other day...something about "the whole nine yards"

Had they acquired a tiny condo in Tokyo? Nine yards...thats 3 x 3 yards, or 81 square feet -- definitely a foot in the door of the market, even if a little cramped.

Oh! Perhaps they were a seamstress/fashion designer, and that's how much fabric was needed for their new ensemble!

Hrmm...I wonder if they'd have been pleased with 9 yards that came in fractional measures? What about metric?

Ah, that's it! They must be a landscaper that scored a gig to maintain the laws for nine houses on a well-to-do cul de sac. Good for them!
